Over the course of the past few weeks, 3S have been working with fractions. We have explored how these can be represented, what a 'whole' looks like and compared them using greater than or less than symbols. This week, we have moved on with our learning. We are focusing on ordering fractions as well as what equivalent fractions look like.

At first we found this tricky, however we soon discovered that as the denominator becomes greater, the part of the whole becomes smaller. The numerator does not change. To support us with our new learning, we attempted to build fraction walls. This aided our conversation and really helped us to visually understand what each fraction looks like in relation to the whole.
