In geography this half term, year 3 have been discovering lots of new knowledge about settlements. They can now describe what a village, town and city looks like including their key human and physical features . The children focused heavily on their population and what services we may find in each settlement.

To support their understanding, the children had the opportunity to make their own 'dens' (town, city and village). They were all given the job of an estate agent and a short fact sheet about their settlements. After inferring and using their comprehension skills, the children gathered their materials and built their 'dens'. After the building session, the children had to guess what they had built based on the estate agents description and presentation.
