Last Friday some of our Year 6 children took part in the Stanley Park Centenary celebrations, marking one hundred years since the park first open its big gates!
The children waited ever so patiently to greet the various dignitries, giving them the chance to chat, welcome and of course a big ‘Hawes Side’ smile.
Along with chidren from other local schools the children then sang a very pertinent song, 'Beside the Seaside', whilst others chose to dance or read a poem.
Despite the weather turning a bit drizzly the children were rays of sunshine and were completely invested in this historic event.
It was an amazing opportunity, once in a life time experience for all those that took part.
Well done to our wonderful representatives who embodied our Hawes Side values throughout.
