We had a wonderful day on Tuesday 28th April visiting Ridgeway Farm and the children thoroughly enjoyed every moment!

We started our adventure with an exciting journey on the minibus, which the children absolutely loved. Lots of smiles and chatter made it a very fun start to the day!

When we arrived, we moved on to meeting the animals. The children had the opportunity to feed alpacas, donkeys, sheep, and goats. They were incredibly gentle and caring when they held and stroked a rabbit and a guinea pig.

We enjoyed lunch together in the sunshine, sitting on the picnic benches and relaxing after a busy morning.

Throughout the day, we spotted lots of signs of spring and used all the knowledge we have been learning in class. Farmer Helen was very impressed with how much the children knew about animals and spring. She told us all about the farm, explaining what each animal does and why they are there.

The children had great fun exploring the orchard, racing on the toy tractors, and playing on the swings and slides. We also looked closely at strawberry plants and visited the hen house to search for fresh eggs!
The children were a real credit to Hawes Side and to their families They showed excellent behaviour, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the day. Farmer Helen was so impressed that she said we are welcome back anytime!

Thank you for your continued support. We are so proud of all the children
