On Thursday 8th May we all commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE Day. The academy dressed in red, white and blue - very patriotic! There was a street party style lunch served by Mellor's own ‘land girls’ along with the backdrop of music from the time.

In the afternoon we took a minutes silence to reflect on those people who gave so much and sacrificed, often their lives, for the freedom of others.

We then finished the day with a good old sing song!
