Year 3 have been working hard with Mr Fleckney in their DT lessons. They have been given the design brief to 'design and make a desk tidy for a teacher's messy desk'. To do this, the children have had to explore different forms of shell structures, use their design skills and experiment with different joins. Some of the many joins they created include a flange, a slot, hole punch and wire and finally a light flap.

The children have chosen to create their desk tidy using a flange as it is the most appropriate, is the correct shapes to fit pencils in and is a lot more stable in comparison to other joins. Here are some pictures of the children taking part.
