Our mission to brighten our school grounds through the planting of summer flowers has begun in earnest.  Our project based around the theme of 'Re-use, Re-purpose and Recycle' has seen our pupils bringing all manner of old items into school for them to plant in, including teapots and wellies!.  The project is also part of an initiative at Hawes Side Academy to provide our pupils with as many opportunities to develop their life skills as possible.  Beginning with our Year 5, pupils have been invited to attend after the school day to learn a little about gardening and plant something of their own.  With the generous donations from parents (see photo of donated items today!!) we hope be able to extend the offer to as many pupils as possible in the academy.

Thank you to all parents who have sent in items or plants, we are very grateful for the donations and the children are certainly having a lot of fun developing their green fingers!
